Yoga Nidra is so beneficial for the nervous system they use it to treat soldiers with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Yin Yoga, with it’s long holds in gentle postures, has similarly relaxing properties for the body and mind. Put them together and they’re a powerful force for transformation. In this unique practice you will see what happens when the body mind and breath move towards relaxation and renewal, becoming open and free in new and unexpected ways.

It is an effortless practice that anyone can do. Meditation is combined with breath and gentle movement to achieve a completely new experience that's beautiful in its simplicity. Using the innate intelligence of the body, we can change minds. It works like Magic. This will include practice, theory and explanation that will allow you to see you, the body and Yoga in a completely new light.

We are living in a new world where more and more people, things and business are fighting for our attention. Indeed, that's how we ‘pay’ for the on-screen society we currently live in.  We ‘pay attention’. Netflix has us binge watching, Facebook has our feeds fed, and youtube autoplays in order to keep us hooked. Whether it's technology, food, smoking, drinking or drugs it can often feel like our cravings are out of our control. This itch-scratch-itch cycle leaves us to feeling tired, wired and disappointed with our lack of willpower and discipline.

Our brains were not designed for the pressures we face. The good news is help is at hand. Utilising breath practices now taught at Stanford University, we don't have to give our freedom away with our data. We don't have to be at the mercy of our habits. We can understand our addictions and decide to do something about them.  If it's time to make that decision these are the tools you need to be able to carry it out and break the chains of needless addiction. Make your addiction a thing of the past and get back the wonderful feeling of being in control, calm and at peace.

Accessing the Body’s Inner Intelligence

Ben's research has lead him to investigate and understand the effects that Yoga Nidra has on our brain wave states. Aimed at yoga practitioners, teachers and therapists, the workshop will include Nidra techniques that can help you to consciously enter brain wave states that enable integration of the hemispheres of the brain, creative problem solving, the concentration behind willpower and determined action, deeper insight and inspiration, and deeper spiritual experience.
 
  • Understand brain health and its effect on the body and mind
  • Understand wave states of the brain, their evolutionary and daily life purpose
  • Learn how Yoga Nidra techniques can help you access the multiple intelligences of the body
  • Integrate these techniques safely into yoga class or yoga therapy by:
    • Being clear on the reasons for obtaining a specific brain wave state
    • Knowing what practices to try to access the desired state
    • Being aware of potential problems students may encounter and how to support accordingly.
